Court Prosecutor TONG CHI-KO (MA, STEVEN) is made to leave his post after being framed. Thereafter he joins a leading fashion retailer as its Legal Consultant, where he meets and becomes a close friend of TUNG YAT-TSUN (NG CHEUK HAI, RON), nephew of the Chief Executive Director TUNG CHIN-LUNG (YUEH HUA). KO bumps into his first girlfriend TSU WING (LIU, BERNICE JAN) but is shocked to learn about her secret relationship with LUNG. Having found out TSUN’s true identity, LUNG’s wife KAM CHI (YIM, MICHELLE) is resolved to wipe him out.

Heartthrob star LING FUNG (KWOK CHUN ON) claimed during the early years of his singing career that he was a student of KAM YIN (WANG MING CHUN, LIZA), a veteran songstress and the leader of a performing troupe. But the press later finds out that this is a pack of lies. YIN is arranging to bring her long-lost son from China to Hong Kong for family reunion. She is so desperately in need of money that she jumps at the chance to blackmail FUNG.
In an attempt to embarrass YIN, FUNG cons her into adopting the inarticulate CHU YUK-LAN (SHEH, CHARMAINE) as her student. And in doing so, he hopes he will be able to slip away from LAN whom he no longer loves. But to his great surprise, LAN turns out to be very popular and comes to prominence as a rising star shortly after her debut.
